Welcome to ZimbabweanAuthors.com, a site dedicated to the free promotion and showcasing of Zimbabwean literay talents and give Zimbabwean writers a platform to show their literary work to the world.

This site seeks to offer a direct solution to the problems affecting promising Zimbabwean writers whose compelling literary works fail to reach the public marketplace. Based on current marketplace politics, highend heavyweight publishers are too busy for stranded budding writers who do not have established agents to accompany or endorse their work. Regardless of literary work potential, many talented Zimbabwean authors lack  the means or resources to hire big-name agents and have therefore been ignored as familiar old talent continually gets the boost. To create leverage, and also to support fresh as well as established talent, this site will strive to unconditionally attract and groom diverse talent as well as showcase the talent to the world.

We provide a one-stop shop to serve our diverse readership on Zimbabwean literature. This platform conveniently integrates service, saving time and resources as it provides the reader with various options under one roof. This is also a stepping stone for enhancing literary skills competitiveness through drawing writers with diverse interests and backgrounds. Such a synergy of skills exposes hidden talents while at the same time inspiring readers and other budding writers. This service emerges as a convenient tool for many skills that risk disappearing unchecked. Through in-house technical advice, mentoring, encouragement, support and benchmarking aspects provided, our subscribed authors not only enjoy free publicity; they also reach out to the world through a unified spectrum as they represent Zimbabwe to the world.

We accept assorted works ranging from memoirs, fiction, non-fiction, magazine articles, short stories, poetry and essays. We also take well-written papers on academic topics of interest.

The site will provide thefollowing  the site highlights:

  • Who is who among the Zimbabwean writers and authors;
  • The range of literature written by our subscribed Zimbabwean authors worldwide,

      I’ve been searching aurond on progressive sites like Common Dreams and Rabble, and it’s really despairing to see Mugabe apologist perspectives so vigorously defended. There aren’t actually many of them, but the know that what they believe is right, they are relentless, and they are vocal. In some cases, I think they are simply trying to play devil’s advocate (which I think is horribly misguided in this case), but some of them, especially Marxist- Leninists and probably Trotskyites, still see Mugabe as a hero of some kind. As if “left-wing” strongmen can’t be as evil as those of the right-wing persuasion. That is, if Mugabe’s left credentials are even still in tact, which I would suggest they are not and have not been for a long time.Of course, it doesn’t help that there are some who say colonial rule should never have ended. That’s not true either, and it just eggs the Mugabe apologists on. It would be nice if we could have discussions where we focus on what Zimbabwe needs right now.

      Whoa. Being an admirer of both Graeme and the Centrist, I’m not happy to see them in a row; but If I took the Centrist’s point the same way Graeme did, I might have rabrouhed the same sentiment.But after having read the Centrist’s post, I should say there is more at work here than it might appear from those rhetorical (and difficult) questions. I am a great admirer of Zizek; quite smitten, actually. But by a strange coincidence, the quotation the Centrist provides – I came upon it myelf some weeks ago – is one of the few instances in which I would happily tell Zizek to fuck off. Sure, yes, let the philosphers reconsider and think and formulate and postulate, but no, not at the expense of taking revolutionary opportunities that present themselves, or moral actions that demand our engagement. I’m for overthrowing Mugabe. I expect I would applaud his assassination, to be honest. I’d settle for making whatever small demonstrations of effective solidarity with the Zimbabwean people that may arise.Graeme proposes something useful, I see.Let’s start there.
